The 33 Bar Ranch was originally homesteaded in 1911. The original home is still here. The bigger home was built in 1933 and has been added onto through the years. Some of these pictures you see are local hikes or just scenery from the ranch.

In the early days
movie stars and politicians came here to go up into the "BOB". The Bob Marshall
wilderness is behind the ranch, Flathead Forest is our east property line and a
trail goes through it to the "BOB". The Bob Marshall wilderness is millions of
acres of mountains, lakes & rivers. No roads, cars or gas engines. Walk, or ride
horseback. Those are your only choices and it keeps the wilderness pristine. The
ranch has through the years been used for outfitting (pack trips etc), bed &
breakfast, hunting lodge and a number of other things.
To the west is the Mission mountain wilderness; same rules apply and from our
property you can see snow capped mountains all year (glaciers). The Swan Valley
is a narrow valley with the Rockies on both sides, and the valley is filled with
lakes and rivers. Local towns are 75 miles north and south. Missoula is to the
south and Kalispell to the north with Seeley Lake being 24 miles south. We have
a store and gas about 10 miles away. Schools are 3 miles to a grade school and
24 miles to high school.
As amazing as it sounds, the grade school bus picks up the kids in the yard and we have garbage pick up also. We have ponds, deer, elk, grizzly & black bear, mountain lions etc. Holland Lake is 4 miles from here and the Swan River is down the road about a mile.
